SOME PLACE ELSE was an independent record label established 1997 by the Finnish artist Niko Skorpio. The label’s history (under the name Demonosound) reaches back to 1992. Some Place Else released over 50 records of experimental, electronic, ambient and industrial music that were distributed worldwide by an underground network of record stores, mailorders and dealers.

Live events in Turku
From 2004 to 2007 Some Place Else ran a record store in Turku where they also organised concerts (as joint operation by Niko Skorpio & Ovro) for local and international artists.

Relocation
In 2007, Some Place Else left the city of Turku and relocated to the countryside. The new premises enabled the crew to focus on production of sound and visual arts without distractions. The label remained active until the end of 2013.
Subsequently Niko Skorpio founded the PARAFERAL Creative Research Facility that operates at the crossroads of cutting edge audiovisual art and consciousness research. Paraferal also maintains the Some Place Else media archive.
